Redesigned Xbox Music and Windows Store apps unveils

In the past, we have seen a number of updates to the built-in apps of Windows 8 like Xbox Music, Weather, Music, Video etc. Microsoft has also stated that the built-in apps will be improved very much in Windows 8.1 and doing the same, Microsoft has greatly improved Xbox Music and Windows store apps in Windows 8.1. The Verge revealed some information and screenshots about the redesigning.

Xbox Music



The interface of this app got a major change as Xbox Music app has got a two panel UI. It improves the navigation and it would help making app fast and fluid. Earlier, the app was slow and not well designed. But Microsoft recently updated it for Windows 8 to make it better. Windows 8.1 continues updating app with even better performance and UI. There’s a in-app search box with improved search results, support for music in SD card and PlayTo support to play a song outside Xbox.

Windows Store

The Verge has also posted details about updated Windows Store. Windows Store app in Windows 8.1 improves the navigation throughout the app and performance boost. There are some other improvements to Top Paid, Top free and other sections. A new section ‘Picks for you’ has been added which suggests you apps based on existing apps and your interest. The Windows Store has been redesigned well to work well in portrait mode.

Windows 8.1 public preview (beta) is going to release on June 26th in the BUILD developer conference by Microsoft. So all other improvements done will go public on June 26.
